VISCONTI, CINEMA AND MUSIC
Conference by Marco Marchetti, librarian of Cernobbio and film critic
Luchino Visconti: from book to film. Imbued with literary and Central European culture, Luchino Visconti is the Italian director who, more and perhaps better than all, transforms cinema into an act of love for the book. Contrary to others who instead remain faithful to the page, adapting it a little and indeed exalting it, Visconti decomposes words; transforms them, tampers them, in the sense that he puts his hand (and eye) to magnify the text, crack it, change its meaning. The result, the only thing that really interests our director, is to achieve a cinema of pure aesthetics; neither calligraphic nor aesthetic, but that is ethical by means of aesthetics. A paradox, it will be said, yet in Visconti, subtle and filigree, we always find the same themes, although declined in various formulations: the languor of the environments, the pleasant aura of decay, the weaknesses of his characters on which breaks, sudden and fearless, the poignant force of history.

Accordions Paolo Camporesi, Daniele Genovese, Mattia Lecchi and Sergio Scappini
The accordion quartet "3+1" was born from the idea of Paolo Camporesi, Daniele Genovese, Mattia Lecchi and Sergio Scappini to deal with compositions of different style and era, original and transcribed: from the Baroque and Classicism of J.S. Bach and L.V. Beethoven to the music for the cinema of N. Rota, M. Morricone and L. Bernstein, through the popular music of G. D'anzi and R. Casadei and the Argentine of A. Tango Piazzolla. The concert closes with a tribute to Franco Mannino, on the centenary of his birth. The composer has written 150 soundtracks for cinema, including some films by Luchino Visconti, winning the David di Donatello for the music of Visconti’s L'innocente, also taking care of those of Ludwig, Bellissima, Gruppo di famiglia in un interno and Morte a Venezia.

Creative printing workshop for children from 6 to 11
Project by Accademia dei Piccoli Artisti, Lara Livio and Martina Legovic
Duration 1 hour and 15 minutes
In connection with Gaia is an educational-creative workshop that accompanies the participant to the discovery of natural forms through art and imagination. The artists will be invited to listen to nature, establishing a relationship of collaboration and respect: the goal is to guide the new generations to the development of a new sensitivity and a sense of belonging to Gaia (Mother Earth). The workshop will be characterized by the experimentation of different creative printing techniques, in which the forms of nature will be the protagonists to create a magnificent artist print.

MALEDETTA PRIMAVERA

An event dedicated to the rediscovery of Villa Erba through the theme of spring. "Maledetta Primavera" is a project, created by SFM, in which to cross the doors of the villa to participate in afternoon activities, enjoy an aperitif or sing with friends.
The public can book to the different activities (three afternoon), the time of the aperitif or the closing evening, so as to allow access to a greater number of people.
ACTIVITIES (access at 4:30 pm; activities from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm)
Those who book activities will also have direct access to the aperitif:
• Sala Camino - PERSONALIZATION TOTEBAG: those who book this activity will have the opportunity to customize canvas bags with colors and brushes bags and then bring them home. Our artist Kristina Zani will follow you and help you realize your vision and create the bag of your dreams.
• Sala Biblioteca - IL TÈ DELLE 17, in collaboration with Erbainfusa and English School: as in a typical English evening, the public can create their own taste of tea by mixing the different aromatic herbs offered by the herbalist Erba Infusa. During the tasting, thanks to the help of the English school girls, you can talk and feel in the real English countryside.
• Sala Lettura - WINE TASTING, in collaboration with Ca' Bianca: the wine shop will offer a tasting of four different wineries to discover more about the art of wine.

From 6 pm the doors of the villa will open to allow the public to wander through its rooms along with a small aperitif offered. Until 8:30 pm there will be live painting with Tebra, nail art by Lucia Tinella, exhibitions by Kristina Zani and live music in a jazz ensemble.
Spring will be the main theme that will link every activity and installation present, to make the villa flourish and welcome the warm season.

On the exhibition "FIRMATO LUCHINO - le lettere ritrovate di Luchino Visconti al Maestro Lorenzo de Paolis", girls and boys will be invited to create a personal postcard to be sent to a dear friend, relative or beloved idol.
Sending letters and postcards written by hand is perhaps a passion of the past, but what joy hides the gesture of sending and that of receiving manuscripts? The creative joy of knowing how to dedicate time slow and precious. The exciting joy of imagining the recipient at the time of reading. The trembling joy waiting for an answer. The tasty joy of sending something written in your own hand, a very personal thought. Sending postcards: what a heart!
The young people will make a postcard drawn with paper and colours depicting a corner or a particular of Villa Bernasconi, they will then choose to whom to send it after finding words dear, sincere, and exclusive to the recipient, ending naturally with their signature.

Organized by the Municipality of Cernobbio on the occasion of "LE 4 STAGIONI DI VILLA ERBA”.
Until November 3, during " LE 4 STAGIONI DI VILLA ERBA ", the Municipality of Cernobbio proposes a new Visconti at Villa Bernasconi, thanks to this exhibition curated by Umberto De Paolis.
On display, the collection of completely unpublished postcards and letters - recently found and kept by his great-grandson Umberto de Paolis - addressed by Luchino Visconti, Count Giuseppe Visconti di Modrone and Carla Erba to Lorenzo de Paolis, cello master of Luchino between 1917 and 1924. The correspondence, which covers a time span from 1917 to 1965, describes affectionate exchanges and moments of everyday life and allows you to deepen new and little-known aspects of the life and educational experience of Luchino before he became the famous director known to all.

PLANTALIA. NATURE ART AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Until May 1, for the first time Art and Science dialogue at Villa Bernasconi in a fusion of Painting and Artificial Intelligence, thanks to this great exhibition by Debora Hirsh, organized by the Municipality of Cernobbio in collaboration with the Ass. Mediterraneo Sicilia Europa and curated by Aldo Premoli.
Starting from his painting developed on canvas, the artist dialogues with Artificial Intelligence programs from which he obtains images and videos with which he then creates new animations. The images, finally, guarantees an eternal virtual existence by recording them in blockchain.
The project of this artist, who, for the first time at Villa Bernasconi, simultaneously proposes animations spread through displays and painting on canvas, includes successive stages in Miami and Mexico City to continue at the Hutchinson Gallery in New York.

LIBERTY INTESSUTO. Un incanto tra filo e colore
Exhibition of selected works from the Miniartextil Archive
Organized by the Municipality of Cernobbio in collaboration with Ass. arte&arte aps
Until May 1, the Municipality of Cernobbio and arte&arte aps present the first Minimostra in Villa Bernasconi of the historical archive of Miniartextil. The exhibition presents 9 mini-textiles by artists from all over the world, selected from the historical archive of the Association of Art & Art, organizer since 1991 of the historic exhibition Miniartextil and two works of fiber art by Mimmo Totaro.
In the exhibition also "Silkworm" of the French artist Zedukes, from the latest edition of Miniartextil "Denudare Feminas Vestis", which was chosen as a purchase award by the Municipality of Cernobbio.
The works are in dialogue with the Villa itself through their association with a particular floral decoration. Thus, a new story was born along the line that connects these contemporary works with the art nouveau of one of the residences that most embody this architectural and artistic style in Europe. Metallic wires, nets and woven fabrics woven by contemporary artists such as wrought irons of the early twentieth century by the blacksmith ornamentist Alessandro Mazzucotelli and glass worked with unconventional plastic processes to create a feast of lights and colours without time limits.

SATURDAY WITH ART. The villa in bloom
Atélier creative for everyone to make an artist’s notebook tracing the metamorphosis of the butterfly, from silkworm.

Like every Saturday, the museum staff offers visitors a series of creative activities inspired by the contents of the museum, throughout the day. The workshop proposed for the occasion is "THE VILLA FIORITA": go hunting for the floral decorations of Villa Bernasconi to create small artist notebooks with pencil drawings or coloured crayons.
