Technology & Innovation
The international exhibition and Convention Centre, thanks to its modular spaces, allows the positioning of over 500 stands of different sizes, making it suitable for both product and services exhibitions.
This is why the scenery is a factor that can make the difference; not only as a location by itself, but also as an extended context, in which landscape, elegance, exclusivity and art, history and tradition, technology and innovation play a fundamental role. The whole centre is on the same level, the central pavilion (1480 square meters), as well as the side wings (about 2000 square meters each), can accommodate up to 1600 participants; the side areas can be divided into 200 exhibition stands or 26 accessory rooms, with a capacity of 300 people.
The composition of the entire structure and the dedicated signage facilitate the routes, and the windows, which can be completely opened, allow exhibitions and presentations of products of large dimensions that can be carried out, in the spring and summer months, even in the surrounding park, so as to host installations en plein air and adjacent to the lake.
Organisation
Villa Erba organization offers a number of accessory services, to complete the events and that can be carried out at its facilities.
Through a network of companies set up for the purpose, Villa Erba can complete its offer with all the external services, from overnight accommodation - 1400 rooms at special rates - to catering, from transfers to access to the cultural events and museum of the territory, which integrate the activities carried out by the centre, thus simplifying the organization.
Every year the centuries-old park of Villa Erba is dressed in the colors and scents of Orticolario, an initiative promoted by a group of gardening enthusiasts, organized with the support of Ortofloricola Comense and the Floriculture-Nursery District. It is "a tribute to nature through an evolved concept of garden, that can be observed in the discreet charm of flowers, their scents and colours, in a sensory journey, with the complicity of the lake".
Among the main objectives of Orticolario is the promotion of the concept of "evolved gardening": all outdoor spaces must evolve with the changing not only of the seasons but also of the individual passions. The initiative is open to the public and year after year it is enriched with contents, exhibitors and visitors from all over Italy and Europe.
The usual edition of Proposte, an exhibition reserved to the textile sector operators was also held at Villa Erba. In this edition, Proposte presented some important news: the collaboration with architect Mario Bellini, the designer who, in 1987, created the technological exhibition centre inspired by the nineteenth-century greenhouses. Mario Bellini Architects studio worked on the pavilions set-up for the three-day exhibition.
To complete the architect's artistic contribution, a lecture was also organized in which he explained his project and his personal experience in the world of furnishing fabrics. "I accepted this collaboration to highlight the importance of the use of fabric in design and architecture - commented Mario Bellini – a subject that is too little discussed. At the same time, it was also an opportunity to return to one of my most cherished architectural creations.
Comocrea Textile Design Show, together with the B2B exhibition "Proposte", once again chose Villa Erba to set a timely and always awaited event, showcasing 25 studies from all over Europe and Australia. The show was born in 1990 and every Spring it hosts the presentation of the printed fabric trends for the autumn-winter collection.
Lario and Villa Erba were selected because of their great appeal to international customers, who have always been sensitive to the heritage of Made in Italy, and in Cernobbio they rediscover the timeless charm of the historical Villa and the technology of the exhibition pavilion. Undoubtedly, the centuries-old park and the lake view leave unforgettable memories to their visitors, albeit in a business-related context.
