'LET'S TAKE CARE OF OUR FUTURE TOGETHER': VILLA ERBA AND SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is a complex concept that can be read from different perspectives: environment-territory and people-community; two visions that intertwine and reinforce each other.
Villa Erba has always had these two approaches in mind, both in terms of its governance and management, summed up in the words of its President Filippo Arcioni: 'Let us take care of our future together'.
Sustainability means progressing in order to be present in future years in the best conditions: besides being a responsibility, it is an opportunity. Since its inception Villa Erba has accepted this invitation and continues to pursue it with present and future projects and goals.

In fact, Villa Erba is a well-established reality in the high-level exhibition and congress sectors and in the organisation of prestigious events, but that is not all: as far as the people-community directive is concerned, in addition to a strong focus on the health and wellbeing of the people who work there, there is a strong characterisation towards objectives that benefit the local area. Particular attention is paid to cultural events open to the community to contribute to the economic development, tourist, cultural and environmental promotion of the province of Como.
There are various projects conceived for the community by Villa Erba, which puts its charm and history at the service of people and which over time has also become an important reference point for digital culture and innovation. Since 2018 Villa Erba has been offering cultural events with free or reduced-price admission designed to involve the people living in the Lake Como area and beyond.
As evidence of its strong link with the territory and its intention to be an active part of it, Villa Erba supports non-profit organisations, universities and schools, and local institutions.

Villa Erba also has at heart the other fundamental perspective of sustainability: the environment, an inescapable theme for an exhibition centre that makes its inclusion in an unparalleled natural context one of its strong points. Together with the preservation of the biodiversity of the centuries-old park, Villa Erba has taken steps to make its activities more sustainable in this respect. In addition to complying with current environmental regulations, Villa Erba adopts the best available technologies to minimise its environmental impact and plan a development of its initiatives aimed at preserving the environment also for future generations.
With this in mind, Villa Erba has embarked on a digitalisation project: 'Villa Erba Get Digital', which envisages the almost complete replacement of the present digital infrastructures, facilitating the provision of new digital services by applying innovative and functional communication and data transmission technologies (4.0 technologies and 5G data transmission).

But this is only the beginning of a rich path: Villa Erba intends to be qualified as a 'sustainable' exhibition centre, achieving the relevant certification and embarking on a path that will unfold over the next few years, inspired by the values and the UN 2030 agenda.
To really take care of our future together and make it even brighter.
